STARBURST FILM FESTIVAL AND FILMMAKING SYMPOSIUM 2023

Festival producer Kirstie Boerst is a highly experienced Creative Producer and Creative Arts Educator who enjoys collaborating with industries on a wide range of film and video projects. Kirstie is passionate about producing content that inspires audiences, changes lives and educates others to do the same.

SOMETIMES WE GET TO COMBINE OUR PASSION AND OUR CAREER TOGETHER BUT WE SHOULD NEVER JUST SETTLE FOR A JOB Partnering with Penrith City Council, Penrith Performing and Visual Arts and The Joan, the StarBurst Film Festival and Filmmaking Symposium will showcase filmmakers. We will introduce you to cracking funding and broadcast agreement, aiming to unravel some of that mystery.

All film entries must be submitted digitally and be received by the submission deadline. If selected to be showcased during the event, all screening copies must be received by March 28, 2023. All films submitted may be used for any festival promotions. All entrants certify that they have been given full rights to use any and all music in their films. All foreign language films must include English subtitles. All films go through a screening process and are reviewed by at least two members of the selection committee.StarBurst Film Festival entrants agree to participate in the publicity for the festival as well as other promotional events, including website, social media, international press coverage and festival trailers. Entry deadline is March 22 2023. Selected film entries will be notified by March 26 2023. Awards and commendations will be announced at the conclusion of festival screenings on April 1 2023. A Festival Certificate will be presented to all films chosen for screening. All films chosen for screening will receive an award. Filmmakers or screenwriters accepted and attending the festival are responsible for travel, lodging, and all other expenses. All films are to be supplied in the agreed file formats indicated.
